
ATCO places a high priority in expanding the knowledge base and cultural sensitivity of ATCO employees through our in-house Aboriginal Awareness Training.
We are also continuing our efforts to increase Aboriginal employment by developing practical and results-oriented skills development and employment strategies that focus on the recruitment and retention of Aboriginal employees. For example, ATCO Electric established an Aboriginal Summer Student Program, that provides post secondary Aboriginal students with meaningful work experience, more importantly, the possibility for both parties to create employment opportunities.
