Our focus areas: Making a difference

Arts & Culture: ATCO supports organizations dedicated to enriching the cultural landscape of the local community by presenting educational programs of great diversity, interest and enduring value. The ATCO Energy Theatre’s “Super Power" show has been seen by tens of thousands of students since its introduction in 2007.

Community Sustainability: ATCO believes in providing a significant and unique contribution to community living by supporting initiatives that benefit a broad segment of the community and addresses an important community priority.

Each year, ATCO hosts two Community Symposiums across Alberta where delegates from community service organizations explore and discuss new trends, insights and best practices for board leadership, organizational management, volunteerism and fund development.

Sports & Recreation: ATCO believes in supporting programs that encourage healthy, active lifestyles and those that help to enhance the physical and social well-being of our communities. ATCO has a long history of providing products and services, employee volunteers and financial support to the Alberta Games, Canada Games and is a Legacy Partner of the Arctic Winter Games (PDF document 229 KB).

Youth & Education: ATCO is committed to investing in programs and initiatives that develop a skilled and sustainable workforce through investments in continuous learning - both personal and professional. ATCO offers more than fifty scholarships and bursaries at post secondary and trade institutions across the country.

We also provide financial support and employee volunteers to educational programs such as Junior Achievement and the ATCO Energy Education Mobile that delivers interactive and unique learning experiences to students in Grade 4.

Health & Wellness: ATCO aspires to enrich the lives of the people who live in the communities we serve. Since 2006, our ATCO EPIC (Employees Participating in Communities) annual fundraising campaigns have raised millions of dollars each year for hundreds of human health & wellness charities and nonprofit organizations.

Employee Engagement: Our employees continue to be ATCO’s greatest asset. Through the ATCO EPIC program we encourage and support their efforts to make a difference in our communities through our annual fundraising campaign and volunteering initiatives. From fundraising events and torch relays at the Arctic Winter Games to building homes for Habitat for Humanity, our employees are the heart of our company.
