Australia Indigenous PhotoAs part of our commitment to building and sustaining long lasting relationships with Indigenous Peoples around the world, we have launched our Indigenous Reconciliation Action Plan in Australia, to help our company strengthen relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

After working closely with local Aboriginal Elders, community representatives and ATCO teams, we have prepared an action plan that outlines our existing strategic and practical commitments to Reconciliation, including the development of a community garden, employment practices and supplier selection.

“ATCO has a long tradition of working closely with Indigenous Peoples in many countries.  We are proud of the effective working relationships that we have established with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australia and see the launch of this plan as both an achievement and a reminder that there is much yet to be done to further the broader Reconciliation conversation,” said Pat Creaghan, ATCO’s Managing Director & Chief Operating Officer in Australia.

“We understand that Reconciliation is a complex issue that requires action at many levels, which is why we are working to embed Reconciliation principles right across the business,” said Mr. Creaghan.

Our commitment to Reconciliation in Australia reflects our global philosophy of building and maintaining relationships that respect the unique cultural identity and history of Indigenous Peoples as well as contributing to sustainable communities and ongoing economic development.

In achieving endorsement by Reconciliation Australia, we are proud to join more than 1000 corporate, government and not-for-profit organizations as signatories to the Reconciliation Action Plan program since its inception in 2006.
