Thank you to all the participants who entered ATCO’s Celebrating Excellence program and congratulations to all the winners.

We received thousands of submissions from students across Alberta who, through their stories, have demonstrated how they are making Alberta a great place to live.

All of the winners were selected at random and have now been contacted.

The 166 winning students will cheer on Canada’s top athletes at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Games during one very special day in February. The students – one boy and one girl from each of Alberta’s 83 ridings – are going to the Games accompanied by a parent or guardian. Additionally, one other student from each riding has won a laptop computer.

During the extensive program that spanned six weeks, Alberta students in Grades 4 through 12 were invited to submit short compositions explaining what they are doing to demonstrate leadership or their commitment to community. ATCO would like to thank all participants for making this program a success. 

The Celebrating Excellence program is sponsored by ATCO in partnership with WinSport Canada and the Government of Alberta.
