Partnering in Canada's North since 1901

Our Partnership Philosophy

ATCO believes in building mutually beneficial partnerships in all aspects of our business. Our approach is based on trust, commitment, transparency and dedication to executing on the smallest detail.  We spend time building relationships and invest even more effort nurturing their potential.

"I am from a tiny community in the North. I grew up here. My roots are here. I cherish our similarities and our differences, the richness and diversity of our cultures. I have worked for ATCO for 21 years. I have extensively travelled our communities, gone into them, helped build partnerships, and watched people grow. The underlying currency of any successful relationship is respect. You must know, and more importantly care, about the area and the people where you are working ― where they were, where they are, and where they want to go. Learning what is important to the different groups is the only way to positively build the future. This knowledge will help us forge ahead in capacity building, training, and quality sustainable employment.

At ATCO we are interested in new business opportunities. We undertake joint ventures which are really 50/50 business relationships that combine the knowledge and skills of both partners. Every community is different. You find out what is important by talking to people, by getting to know more than just one person or one group. It takes time and resources, but ultimately it is the only way to develop quality relationships and respect. It is the way ATCO does business.”
