ATCO Gas Lost Kids Program

Through the Lost Kids program, ATCO Gas has been providing a safe and secure environment for the young cowboys and cowgirls attending the Calgary Stampede since 1993. The unique program provides an opportunity for lost children to reunite with their parents in a safe environment. This program is available throughout the Stampede.

The Calgary Stampede grounds can get extremely busy and it is easy for parents and their children to get separated from one another; approximately 35,000 Lost Kids tags were distributed in 2008, helping all children reunite with their parents.

Upon entering the Stampede grounds, Lost Kids program staff and volunteers approach families and provide the kids with a Lost Kids tag, on which parents record their on-grounds contact information. If a child gets separated from their parent, Calgary Stampede staff will take the child to the Lost Kids Centre, contact their parent and look after the child.

This year, the program will be identifying children with a Lost Kids bracelet similar to those used on a ski hill or recreation complex. ATCO is dedicated to protecting the children in our community and strongly believe in the benefits of the Lost Kids program. The Lost Kids Centre can be found next to the Agriculture building (provided by ATCO Structures).

Stampede Shelter

How do you prepare for ten days of fun? By ensuring that you have temporary modular shelter where needed. ATCO Structures & Logistics Ltd. provides temporary bathrooms for the hundreds of thousands of visitors to the Calgary Stampede as well as temporary offices for media personnel, performers, judges and drivers. ATCO also provides shelter for lost kids at the Stampede. ATCO Structures constructs the modular buildings at its manufacturing plant in Calgary, delivers them to the Stampede grounds and then disassembles them again after the Greatest Outdoor Show comes to an end. Providing these temporary units is another way ATCO supports this internationally renowned community initiative.
