Our Leadership Team
Patrick Creaghan, Country Chair
Pat was appointed Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer in June 2017. In his role Pat is responsible for identifying and leading strategic growth initiatives that represent ATCO’s complete suite of premier solutions across all business lines, including Western Australia’s largest natural gas distribution network and ATCO’s power generation assets. He also serves on the Australian Board of ATCO Structures & Logistics Pty Ltd. Pat has more than 25 years’ experience in a variety of operational and leadership roles and has served as President, Storage & Liquids and Senior Vice President, Corporate Development since joining ATCO in 2011. Pat has also held executive positions with Shell Canada and Royal Dutch Shell Group.
Stevan Green, President, ATCO Gas Division
President, ATCO Gas Division
Stevan was appointed President ATCO’s Gas Division in August 2018 having first joined the business in 2017 as General Manager Assets and Engineering Innovation. He has more than 25 years’ experience in the resources industry including senior roles with Shell and BHP. Stevan’s expertise covers project management, compliance and managing external business risks, and the practical application of state-of-the-art technologies. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from the University of Western Australia and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Engineers Australia and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
John Ivulich, Chief Financial Officer

John was appointed Chief Financial Officer in August 2014 having served as Director, Finance for ATCO in Australia since joining the company in 2011 following ATCO's acquisition of the WestNet Infrastructure Group. He holds the strategic financial planning responsibility for ATCO in Australia and oversees the delivery of accounting, finance, tax, business planning, forecasting and treasury functions. John is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Accounting & Finance.
Simon Byrne, General Counsel & Company Secretary
General Counsel & Company Secretary
Simon joined ATCO's Australian Gas Division in 2010 and has held various executive positions including Senior Legal Counsel and General Manager, Commercial Services. Since December 2013 he has been part of ATCO's Executive Management team and holds responsibility for HSE, Facilities Management, Risk Management, Insurance and Internal Audit co-ordination, while also providing legal advice across all ATCO companies in Australia. Additionally, Simon is Company Secretary and an Executive Director of ATCO Australia. A qualified lawyer, he holds Bachelor of Jurisprudence and Bachelor of Law degrees from the University of Western Australia.
Kylie Newton, General Manager, Human Resources

Kylie joined ATCO in April 2011 and is responsible for managing the strategic direction, initiatives and operations of the Human Resources function at ATCO. Having held senior HR roles within a number of industries, Kylie has a wealth of knowledge in all aspects of human resource management, organisational development and industrial relations. Kylie holds a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Marketing as well as a Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management.
Russell James, General Manager Hydrogen & Future Fuels
General Manager Hydrogen & Future Fuels
Russell James first joined ATCO in 2002, and has held various roles including General Manager Business Development and Customer Experience. With 20 years’ experience in energy, Russell is experienced in the delivery of small to large scale energy and utility infrastructure projects. He has extensive knowledge of gas and energy markets, pricing, and regulations. Over the last four years he has led or played a key role in all ATCO's hydrogen related activities, including development of the Clean Energy Innovation Hub, conceptualising and sourcing funding from the WA Government Renewable Hydrogen Fund for the Hydrogen Vehicle Refuelling station, and securing $28.7m from ARENA to develop the Clean Energy Innovation Park - a commercial scale renewable hydrogen production project.
Ben Bolot, Executive General Manager Business Development

Ben was appointed Executive General Manager Business Development in October 2020. A highly experienced senior executive with a track record of strategic leadership, business development and execution, Ben comes to ATCO from GFG Alliance where he was Head of Mergers and Acquisitions. With experience spanning a number of industries including energy, mining and infrastructure, Ben is well placed to lead ATCO’s expansion on the east coast of Australia. He holds degrees in Commerce and Law from the University of Auckland, was previously admitted as a Barrister & Solicitor and a Chartered Accountant in New Zealand, and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Mehdi Toufan, General Manager Integrated Energy

Mehdi Toufan was appointed General Manager Integrated Energy in July 2019, having first joined ATCO in 2018 as General Manager Assets and Engineering within ATCO’s Gas Division. He has previously worked at technical, senior management and executive levels for AECOM, Western Power and the Australian Energy Market Operator and has expertise in power systems design and operation, engineering management, project delivery and asset management. Mehdi has extensive experience in the power and energy infrastructure and utility sectors in Australia and New Zealand. He holds a Master of Engineering (Electrical) from the University of Auckland and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Engineers Australia and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Natalie O'Malley, General Manager Corporate Affairs & Business Improvement
General Manager, Corporate Affairs & Business Improvement
Natalie was appointed General Manager Corporate Affairs and Business Improvement in October 2021, having first joined ATCO in 2016 initially as Senior Internal Communications Advisor and held subsequent roles with ATCO in customer experience, business improvement and change management. Natalie brings more than fifteen years’ career experience in the utilities and oil and gas sectors in Western Australia, having held various corporate affairs and customer roles with Chevron, Synergy and Western Power.
