Corporate Knights Recognizes CUL, an ATCO Company
Canadian Utilities (CUL), an ATCO company, is proud to be recognized among Corporate Knights' 2023 Best Corporate Citizens in Canada.
The Corporate Knights’ 2023 Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada acknowledges companies that are making positive contributions to the environment and society, while also achieving long-term financial success.
For this award, CUL was evaluated against a set of criteria related to its sustainability performance, which includes factors such as environmental performance, resource efficiency, social impact, diversity and inclusion, ethical governance, and financial sustainability. CUL was also evaluated on its transparency and disclosure practices, as well as its leadership in addressing global sustainability challenges.
“This award reflects our dedication to creating a positive impact on our environment and the society while achieving long-term prosperity. CUL celebrates this milestone and continues our journey towards a more sustainable future.”
- Colin Jackson, Senior Vice President, Finance, Treasury & Sustainability
CUL received top-quartile scores on: Non-male Board, Non-male Executives, and Water Productivities. This recognition is the result of ATCO’s long-standing demonstrated ability to provide reliable and affordable energy services, while also balancing environmental, social, and governance factors.
“Sustainable revenues and investments are key indicators of which companies will perform well in the cleaner economy of the future. This year’s Best 50 are showing impressive leadership, and trend lines are encouraging across the full universe of companies assessed. Even without a defined framework to guide such investments in Canada, companies are clearly moving in the right direction.”
