FEEL THE ENERGY!
Over 3600 athletes competed for gold during the 27th Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, February 15 – March 3. ATCO was part of the energy and assisted these young athletes in their pursuit of excellence through sport during the games.
With close to 20,000 guests participating in the games either through competition or as spectators, there was a big requirement to properly feed, house and accommodate specific needs so everyone had a positive experience. Our long history with events like this has proven our structures are perfect temporary units for multi-purpose use - so as a co-sponsor of the games, we provided temporary structures for such things as media officials and volunteer change rooms, ski waxing and green rooms for artists etc.
While athletes competed in 19 different sports, we were the co-presenting sponsors of the Music & Cultural Festival located at Celebration Plaza during the games. This was a free family event, featuring a mainstage with some of Canada’s finest performers, ice slides and sculptures, food trucks and other fun activities.
Visitors to the festival were invited to show their energy by visiting the ATCO tent and become part of our selfie wall which you can track on social media under the hashtag #BeTheEnergy. Visitors were also invited to post their photos to #CWGmosaic to become part of a 11 x 6’ piece of art that will be gifted to the City of Red Deer by ATCO and ATB, our co-presenting sponsor. As extra incentive, guests had a chance to win a pair of WestJet tickets to any Canadian destination.
