7L65 Line Rebuild Project
ATCO is proposing to rebuild the existing 7L65 transmission line to allow the facility to operate the full thermal capacity. The proposed 7L65 Line Rebuild Project will consist of new single, circuit, 144-kilovolt (kV) transmission line located between the Vegreville substation, south of the Town of Vegreville and the Vermilion substation, located in the Town of Vermilion. This new line will replace the existing 7L65 which is approximately 93 kilometres (km) in length. The existing 7L65 line will be removed once the rebuilt line is operating.
Fall 2021 - Phase construction plans to begin.
April 2020 – The AUC granted approval to the project.
November 2018 – Facilities application filing with Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC).
July 2018 - Project update to all stakeholders.
February 2018 - Project update to all stakeholders.
October 3-5, 2017 - Open houses.
September 2017 - Notification to landowners, public agencies and other interested parties. Public consultation begins.
