Our Approach

ATCO?s people and partners have made us the company we are today. With operations across hundreds of communities all over the world, we have a unique opportunity to engage and find ways to make life better for our customers and neighbours and to ensure they are meaningfully included in the projects that may affect them.

To support our goals, we focus on creating partnerships that contribute to long-term, sustainable economic and social development and are continually exploring new models of collaboration with our Indigenous and community partners. We believe we can make the most impact -- in the spirit of Canada?s Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples -- by focusing on what we call the four ?Es? of our Indigenous strategy.

We know we must also reflect the people in our communities in our workforce. We promote and maintain a workplace culture of inclusion and caring that values our individual differences, perspectives and backgrounds. We continue to build momentum and advance diversity, equity and inclusion through employee-led initiatives and committees, education and training, recruitment and retention strategies and internal policies. This creates strong employee engagement and job satisfaction.

Engaging our employees creates a culture that supports innovation and drives positive change by continuously adapting and improving how we think and act, both on and off the job.
