ATCO partners with Hockey Australia in joint commitment to diversity and inclusion
ATCO Australia has this week announced it has become an official partner of Hockey Australia. This new partnership will see ATCO support Hockey Australia in delivering its national junior program and national social inclusion program, across all states and territories, including in some of the most remote areas in Australia.
With a rich history of equal female and male participation, with players from across Indigenous and multicultural groups, Hockey Australia actively promotes diverse and inclusive participation through a number of programs including those at a grassroots level in regional and remote areas to the highs of Olympic competition.
Through this partnership ATCO will also support the National Outdoor Championships and Masters, the Hockeyroos, Australia’s national women’s hockey team; the Kookaburras, Australia’s national men’s hockey team, as well as community-based schools programs in regional WA.
ATCO Australia Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer Patrick Creaghan said the programs and initiatives delivered by Hockey Australia align with the company’s culture.
“Our partnership is underpinned by our commitment to the communities in which we operate and a shared goal of fostering greater diversity and inclusion - from the workplace to the sporting field,” said Mr Creaghan.
“Our organisation is shaped by the many people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, so for us it makes sense to partner with a sport that champions diversity and inclusion, as well as supporting physical activity from a young age.”
"Securing a global business like ATCO that has a strong focus on community engagement is a wonderful addition to our hockey family," said Tim Cherry, HA GM - Commercial, Communications and Events.
